It's important to be able to get your sound on any amp because when you're in the professional arena, amps are provided. So I'm really not partial to anything. In my own amp arsenal I have 2 Gallien-Krueger 150MBE's. Sometimes I run them in stereo, sometimes in mono, sometimes I use just one. They're sort of like direct boxes with speakers. For the larger set-up I have two 2-12 cabinets with vintage EV SRO's, two Shure 105B power amps and two Shure 107 preamps, clean with EQ for days. At BB's I use their SVT with the 4-10 cab with a Fender 4-10 Bassman reissue. The Bassman adds presence while the SVT is free to give me my lows and highs unobstructed.
My main bass is Elita #0001, black on black with maple neck with block inlay and binding, my favorite neck I use on all my basses. Schaller bridge and Bartolini 9J-1's. They have the deep bridge and the bridge neck, and most of what you're hearing from is the bridge pickup. My stereo bass has three pickups with an assign switch for each one, left or right or center off. The bridge pickup is two Fender 60's Custom Shop pickups placed close to each other and wired in series for the fattest bridge tone I've known. The middle and neck pickup (I mean right next to the neck) are Bartolini 9J1's. The electronics is a volume and tone on each side on concentrics then twin Varitones. You can hear it on the stereo page.
